Gregory. You have this down as 'vers libre' but I think that it follows the construct of a sonnet. Not simply because it is 14 lines long but that it contains a 'turn' from 'Brick schoolhouse off in the distance'. The narrative moves from statement of the natuarl elements to that of the human elements. It works very well and I like the idea that you use by contrasting as this poem does. What it does maintain is a continuity of descriptive use: providing emotion throughout.
