First Snowflakes
Soft like cotton balls, first snowflakes fall
Kiss the faces of children, so enthralled
Some swirl and twirl carried by the sweeping wind
And I can not wait to make ‘angels’ wings!
Tree branches fully dressed in spotless white
And rooftops far away seem closer in sight
How bright eyes light up, and fill with glee
The first snowflakes of the year, they see!
