Fires of Flesh
FIRES OF FLESH.
Where the sacred fires of flesh
Burn steady in mountain sojourn
Coral of the stones and the grass
Inscribing signatures in antique brass.
Across bluish waters of the lake
Reflections of the shaders alive
Seated on a wide wooden throne
Before the symmetrical fountains
Some unknown figure like Isis.
Here are the worlds
Of gods and demons
Of haze and visibility
The shades and the unborn
Spirits of the dead long gone.
On certain nights
Opening the purple door
In the house of memory
Where a secret is born.
Drunk in the wilderness
Sharpening the pointed horn
Settling for a new awakening
In translucent light of a dawn.
