Fireflies In the Sky

Outside our cabin, where the fireflies blink There are stars that escaped the nighttime folds Wind moves calmly as if the whispers think The stars move on by and often do wink We sit on the beach seeing what is bold Outside our cabin, where the fireflies blink Specks of dim light exist more on the brink Wind moves swiftly rising just like it’s told Wind moves calmly as if the whispers think None of the waves are calm and that does stink Compassion expels, the light is not sold Outside our cabin, where the fireflies blink The stars go along like they’re on a rink The wind’s an illusion I try to hold Wind moves calmly as if the whispers think There’s some chimes outside the cabin that clink A tender blend of the stars brings a mold Outside our cabin, where the fireflies blink Wind moves calmly as if the whispers think Russell Sivey

russell, that first stanza was amazing. the imagery of fireflies as stars that had escaped the nighttime folds. Also I loved the repeating lines of your villanelle. Especially "wind moves calmly as if the whispers think" Nice job.
