Fireflies
do you remember the night
you took me out to watch fireflies?
we stood there, breathless
as they illuminated the night sky
they danced in a way
that set the entire scene aglow
the pale rays reflected
off the fresh fallen snow
our cheeks were rosy
from our running haste
so close, i could count
each freckle on your face
your hazel eyes shining
you seemed in a trance
until you grabbed my hand
and started to dance
in the night, we enjoyed this
elysian view
you were looking at fireflies
i was looking at you
