Fire and Ice

I waited and I waited With hope in my soul hours days months for what will be an eternity waiting the sun rose and set the stars shone bright and then went dark the moon rose again Time became a marker of the intense pain the anguish of our love and longing the desire never far; so helplessly clear The light in your eyes fading hating myself for not knowing how to comfort you all I heard was the silence between us the absence of your presence and touch the distance and cold in your actions My mind tried to forget you; but my heart wouldn't allow it I saw your name and felt you everywhere; but couldn't reach you I believed this to be some kind of sign I am the fire to your ice; the smile to your laughter; the love you crave We both know it to be true Time does not change feelings No matter our distance in this life Days will pass mornings into nights months into years I will always carry us in my silent private tears You can say scars are emotional wounds My dear love you know this to well I could never stop dreaming of more I refuse to write an ending for us If I never speak again I need you to know You're still written lovingly in the scars of my heart I will always be waiting for you
