The sounds of nature, and especially a robin singing is to me one of the most soothing kind of music you could ever wish to hear near a loved one's grave. Memories do flood back as will tears as you think and long for their presence especially at this time of the year. Jack my wish for you is a wonderful safe, blessed and happy Christmas. Hugs Jennifer.

The Robyn was a messenger Sam is right, he came at the moment you needed him most to bring you solace peace and comfort at the graveside where she was laid to rest. A beautiful, sad yet comforting poem to read. Hugs and blessings my friend, Jennifer.

So pensive and so sad a moment you have snatched out of time Jack. You have put me in a place where I have stood many times in the attitude of ambivalence between happy memories and loss. It is true irony that we are sent comfort in these times with the song or appearance of bird - truly God's messengers. So much emotion conveyed in your well written tanka! Congratulations!

"standing at her grave" - could be one of the most painful experiences. Symbolically, robin’s song gives solace. Beautiful Tanka. Congratulations!

Very well written, Jack. Sometimes, even a little thing, such as a bid's song, is enough to bring closure and peace. ~ Regards // paul
