Find Peace In the Night

Sometimes I stand, in the darkness of night, As a soft warm glow, beams from a street light. To find my peace, and take some time, As silence is broken, by a church bell chime. But nothing else, just enchanting silence, No traffic, no anger, no distant violence. Just peace, and calm, wherever you go, As stars in the sky, put on their nightly show. The dark nights are where, I have time for me, To think about plans, and what they may be, A city of sleepers, as I stand awake, A deep breath from the day, I can finally take. I have time to breathe, to relax and unwind, To delve deep into thought, the memories I find. Like a photo album, that’s lost for years, Forgotten times, can re appear. Times forgotten, through selfishness of day, That gives you no time, your mind goes stray. You forget about times, which make you smile, To work for coins, just to live for a while. But night time comes, and people go to sleep, To give you the break, to view memories you keep. To smile and breathe, to be by yourself, To think about life, and not about wealth.
