Feeling Heroic
no, he cannot recall
having felt this good,
this heroic before.
the warm swirl of her lilting
laughter deliciously lifts him up;
and he still cannot believe that
he can really make her laugh;
with amused chuckle, she grins
expectantly, hanging on to every
word he says and, though he is
still half-way through the joke,
it seems that mirth bubbles up
from her tummy to her lungs,
bursting in giggles and guffaws
of iridescent joy in her throat;
no, he cannot recall
having felt this good,
this heroic before.
