Feeling Down Deep

A mysterious feeling, Down deep in my soul, Haunts me day and night, Whether I'm awake or not.   My mind is tormented, By the voices and sounds. Telling me to believe, Whatever I see or hear.   The little shadows, I see on the walls, Keep me aware, That I am not alone.   I feel the walls closing in, And the shadows getting closer. They will hear what I'm thinking, If my heart will tell.   Do I chase away the shadows, And plug my ears, This way I will not hear, What the shadows say.   But that mysterious feeling, Down deep in my soul, Continues to haunt me, Afraid I will tell.   Little by little I sneak out of my room, Looking for shadows, On the walls down the hall. I approach the front door, Ready to escape, But then the voices call me back Where I will be safe.
