Fastest Runner Alive
Walking the road of life
taking directions as I go
selfish ways to please myself
not knowing their body blow
But on my tracks all the while
is mercy always at my tail
unaware of Him at the time
His pursuit will not fail
This mercy has a still small voice
speaking to my inward soul
all the while calling for me
to turn from life's wasted goal
This runner seems so relentless
determined to never give up
for His power is overwhelming
so to take away my bitter cup
This cup of sin belongs to me
but this man of mercy drank it all
taking my punishment I deserved
so I can now obey His call
What stamina and speed this was
to always keep me in His sight
this runner mercy is the best
for He's now my eternal light
