Fast Times At Ridgemont High

A movie, oh wow, when one need not be Woke! A girl was a girl, a bloke was a bloke. I forget I was born when times were free. Not under pressure of societal perversity. We had jobs, were not weird and went to school. We had nothing free, we were not governments’ tools. Remember when schools were open and all stores, too. We were not Covid,freaked-out-masked fools? Nor were our teachers the government’s tools! Our parents taught us ethics and rules! We did not live on cold social platforms. We lived and loved in freedom, that was the norm! One could tell clearly, who was a girl or boy. There were no “man- buns”,a welcomed joy! Hope America returns to that sense of joy. When it’s acceptable to be the sex you were born, either girl or boy! Notes: Ideas from the movie. “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”, 1982 Sean Penn, Phoebe Cates, Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Big hugs and thanks, you fabulous Poet! New Poets...read Robert Hinshaw, one of the many fine writers of Cowboy Poetry and limericks. He is an award winning Poet, who never blows his own horn. But I will....A better friend than Bob is hard to find! Give him a read! Pangie

It is a classic. Wonderfully a mirror of times past. No way the Facebook Nation! Yuck! A new name for it! The Disinformation Nation. Yes, it is accurate to those with “Eyes Wide Shut..” LOL. Apologies for growing up in a face to face nation, does not sync with online life to me. Anymore than masks.glad I was born in the Age of Dinosaurs! Pangie.

I wish things were changing for the better, Bill. I am far from a teen! But the lightness of Fast times does brighten my day. Simplicity, true friends, that teacher, Mr. Hand? Are so real to me.and going through life with joy. Wow! How very special. We are both retired teachers, and children are wonderful.I welcomed their laughter and critiques. Thanks Bill for reading me.+++

Panagiota we are separated twins methinks...every line was an echo within, we may have matching mirror neurons and my guess, well, you are one of those cherished gifts...a sentimental lady...so i acknowledge, every line i could say, you took the words right out of my mouth...thank you for the delightful romp

Dear Twin Tim! I agree. We do have sparkling matching neurons. I am sentimental but also, avidly and outspokenly sane. So joyful you liked this. I see my grandson being raised well, in a private school, totally unmasked. No Covid obsession there. An honor student, complelting his freshman year! Fabulous parents, both bright, fun and givers to this world. It was a delightful romp,as you said and carries meaningful implications in it. It was a joy to pen this. Twin Pangie!))

Excellent Pangie. I wish we could return to those times too when you didn't need a program to tell a boy from a girl and we were proud to be who and what we are. The teachers didn't stick their noses in and try to teach the kids about morals. We learned that at home and parents did their best to teach us to be upright people they could be proud to call their own. Love this. A fave for me. God Bless, JB

Hi Judy, I Do feel alone in this world. I really do not understand it anymore. Furthermore, We are now ashamed to be American? We are afraid to express ourselves, unless we are far far left! A comment by a poet said that all people who did not have the Covid vax should be put to death! I think of that creepy statement every time I come here. There is a madness in this country like rabies that affects brains of Poets and all the world. It is hard to know, who to trust any more. I don’t know if the world anymore.I only see it getting worse, more Nazi like! Ratting on fellow employees, neighbors? There was a thing called morality. Schools should teach subjects not to change the biological statusOf your children. Pangie
