Farewell
Sad solemn sounds as silence speaks,
Observe the mood where loss makes plain;
Love leaps profound as stillness peaks,
Embrace the good where echoes strain;
Mind and heart know this certain truth,
Now in sure grief that broken soul.
Feel how pain shows in ample proof,
Agile yet brief the scattered whole;
Rest in sure ease in lovely light,
Exult the man who lived full zest;
Words that bring peace now comfort plight,
Embrace fond scan that lovely quest;
Life well-lived then is cause for joy,
Love knows just when choice forged employ.
