Famished From the Inside

Famished from the inside and deprived from the out, he longs for the comfort of food and yet receives no love- Malnutrition feeds his soul, crawling to fall out, a cup of water just isn't enough. His determination is filled with doubt and yes his life has been rough- but for some reason still strives to find faith in humanity. See, we do not pause for the weak-we do not take a stand and speak- we do not feed the ones who thirst-we only put our selfish needs first. Poverty from the inside with an appetite for adoration. He lingers as his bones crumble from starvation. His needs not met as he cries out in pain, this world ignores the ones who deserve salvation. Why from serving do we refrain? Why is there so much contemplation? When all he needs is a small piece of grain. See, we do not rise for the lonely- we think of no one but us only- we look at him with extreme pity- when he too, lives in our city. Nourishment is all he does crave- why can't we take a minute to save? *If only we could somehow feed all the starving children in the world* November 9, 2016

A great sympathetic compassionate poem that is so heartrending to read. With all the affluence waste of food around I can't believe such malnourished people exist. I couldn't pass one by without giving even little even though I'm not wealthy. Rich countries ought to hep out more. Kudos for this moving poem written swell. I tink I have read from u before. Pls do comment my latest poem only.

its the nature of our souls to be both Cain and Able, yet only man has empathy and the ability to reach out with the hand of compassion....my first thought after reading this heart touching poem
