Family Tree

Divided by decades our feet traveled worlds apart but our eyes saw the same sky The same sun touched your shoulder, while stars captured your thoughts with curiosity On nights of full moon did you wonder who I'd be or wonder if I'd care enough to think beyond myself? My mere existence is because you came before, on this shelf beneath the stars The mighty oak grew limbs of faith, hardship, and loss I give thanks to you and hope to honor such strength with leaves of iron and gold ________________________________ 7/22/16

Thanks Andrea.......once again, this is a poem that is lost in the dust !! LOL !! Some times the sponsor just doesn't 'get me" ... I suppose we have to expect that everyone is looking for something different !! Thanks for the compliment !!

Great insight Carrie. "Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth Would care to know my name Would care to feel my hurt Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star Would choose to light the way For my ever wandering heart Not because of who I am But because of what You've done Not because of what I've done But because of who You are...."
