Family Reunion

Uncles and Aunts standing all around So many I love yous, I feel i could drown I take one step forward, I take two steps back Im bombarded by people who just want to yack Cheeks that are aflame from the pinching they've endured From elderly relatives saying how much ive matured From Rowdy young boys playing ball in the fields To old ball capped men conversing on this years crop yield Grandkids lining up and sitting side by side Bubbling with exitement to go on a tractor ride From corn on the cob to down home fried chicken No where else could you find such good pickens As we gather together and in thankful union we pray I know that i will always remember these family reunions as special days

Heather, What a warm picture you have painted with your words of family and the love expressed to loved ones they have not seen in years. Family is a blessing and your poem shares that very entertainingly. Mahalo and Aloha, Connie Thank you for commenting on Winter Divinity
