Family Photo
I am the picture on the other side of the cab
But you didn’t bother to take me
And I’m waiting in this bus seat
Counting the time it undergoes
Till the flash
Bounces against my skin
And says something to the sky
Some days it feels too long
This yearning, lusting urge
Burns as I relax in the cab
I squirm for release
And find no choice
But to breath in this smoked air
That stains the foreign light
Making it impossible to believe
That it’s you on the other side of the camera
Maybe taking a picture of me.
