Family Law
Family Law
Immaturity comes from lack of knowledge.
This sheltered woman was raised polished
To not speak up against the man's ways.
Lest I got a bare ass lesson in shame.
I ran away from my parents loud silence
To an older man's quest for compliance.
Away from the mental screams for attention,
Where my child was used as a weapon.
Later married where lessons were served
Rough, ragged, bruised, screams unnerved,
Choked. My own child watching wild-eyed;
Learned to accept my fate - taught blind.
Terror great in my child's eye trying to choose
To help or listen, who should she listen to?
I knew that it should of never been a decision
Between either of the instructions given.
The days grew longer and the fights pursued.
Faith has been broken, battered, bruised
My child watched her mom and dad fight
I was punished for trying to prove I was right
