This poem is my memory of our old home and my family. Share your thoughts on this.

Together we were a family of seven Mother, Father and us five Our eldest sister was just eleven As we buzzed about our hive! Every Sunday was same as such, And the day began at just past six, Coffee, Studies, bath and lunch Family time and friends to mix! Father’s earnings was all we had To meet the needs of all the seven Thanks to the love of mum and dad Home for us was second heaven! A small house could keep us glad With a tiny little kitchen A room alone for mum and dad And the rest for us kittens It was I recall, on a festive day When we were sat for dinner Dad said he had something to say That would be with us for ever” “What we have today is quite special, The wealth of us being together” “family and love is most vital” This you must always remember!” Decades since, those spoken words Have echoed ever so true We all live in wealthy abodes But family meetings are few! That little house had more charm Than all the earnings of today Our family love was ever so warm That I could give all this away!!

Thank you. This poem has touched everyone in my family. Dad was very close to us. We are planning a big get together with my Mum who is 88!
