Falling Snow At Dawn
Each flake drifts downward through the air,
Gently falling covering the bare,
Creating a blanket of snowy white,
Changing the dark into light.
A glistening white covering the ground,
Replacing the brown with a feathery down.
Softening the path of each trodden step,
For intruders crushing the luxurious carpet.
Animals scurry in the snow,
Their fur coated with an icy glow,
Searching every tree knot and frozen knoll,
Each cavity and snow filled hole.
The falling snow continues on,
No sign of stopping at the dawn,
A new day begins in snowy white,
Creating a peaceful and blissful sight.
