Falling Skyward
What else is left for me to do
But to look towards the sky
As ground below me tears in two
Right as I learn to fly,
Not on wings or magic cloths
Concerned in fairy tales
But in things that rose aloft
Adjourned in times I failed,
Releasing me of any guilt
I may have felt before
Which cease to be as I'm rebuilt
With just a little more,
Courage and the solitude
To hold my head so high
That even starlight can't elude
The shadow in my eyes,
And as I'm falling skyward
I glance at the world beneath
Forgiving all that I could
Every moment that I breathe....
