"As years go by, we look at fading photographs recalling memories shared with loved ones, never expecting it to come to an end. When they're gone, memories will be all that's left." ~ by poet Once, life was good. We smiled in every photograph. Neither of us gave a thought to ever needing an epitaph But time is the enemy and one day each smiling face wrinkled when the shifting sands took up the chase Fading pictures, memories of years that have passed Wedding portraits, surrounded by family and friends Happiness captured on that day with a camera lens A bright future ahead and building a family together In good times and holding each other in stormy weather Fading pictures, of life's tragic pains and simple pleasure I don't dare question what fate may have in store for me I'll just keep looking at our photographs, long as I can see the smile you wore, the light that glowed in your eyes They get me through nights without you, when I agonize Fading pictures, but in my mind all the colors are clear I still look at the stars like we did on the porch swing, but they don't shine so brightly now. Nor does anything I've images of holding hands and whispers of, "Good night." Of waking at your side, together welcoming morning light Fading pictures, of a life we shared without a single regret

Thank you for the honor, Constance. It was a photograph of faded photos. Another PS glitch, no matter paying for the ability to post them. I posted another photo.

Loved the allusion to the memories, especially of the stars. Alas we both relate to the same situations. Faded photos remind us of the fast-ending life.

I appreciate your thoughts, Victor. I don't think of the end of my life. It's much more positive to remember fun times, and I'm still enjoying them with grandchildren... taking new photographs.

WoW!Lin, I really liked how you composed your entry for the contest. I agree photos hold so many precious memories. I was over my aunts house recently and I looked at her photo album and my heart was filled with joy. Though some were fading they touched my heart. In my humble opinion this a winner in book. Best wishes in the contest. PS, I chose the same word;-) Alexis

Morning Alexis. We keep those precious photos to bring happy memories to mind. When I made my last move, I gave our family albums to my children because I wouldn't have room for them. Since they were babies, I'd kept family pictures of both, one with more of my daughter, the other of my son, so they each have several albums, focused on growing up. Thanks for your kind thoughts for the contests.
