Face of Failure

Your words were like shards cutting deep into my veins All you ever left me with was the pain Knowing I will never be anything to you, or anyone else You beat me down until I was black and blue And you kept telling me that we would pull through I should have known that only time would tell You hide the pain so well, but now your true colors have shown And nothing could ever replace the only heart I have ever known You made me believe that I was perfect But inside every perfect face Comes the flaws I wish I could erase But nothing could ever heal me like you do You used me for your advantage and took a toll on my mind And every time I see you I loose track of time Knowing that you were my only option left But in each happy face Lies the memories I wish I could evade But nothing could ever hurt me like you do
