Ezekiel's Cry of Israel
An orphan girl-a rugged child
Abandoned in the streets
Made a slave-abused, tormented-
Without hope, desire-in chains
Compassionate King –heart of mercy
Saw the daughter of sin lay dying
Drew her forth-paid her debt
Brought her home-set her free
Made a bride-in elegant silks
Pearls, perfumes-beauty
No longer a slave-the bride of the King
Set free to live and free to sing
Yet orphan girl with heart set free
Went back to the streets to play
Filth and rot and evil things
She desires-partakes- is
Merciful king-pleads with His love
Turn-Come-Remain
Leave the filth abide in me
I will give all you need
Wretch heart -would not turn away
More and more each day
Love and goodness not enough
Further and further she strayed
Righteous King-let go of His bride
Let her run to the filth she loved
Watching, watching- loving King
As His chosen one runs away
Fallen daughter-despair once more
In a miry pit lay dying
Surrounded by the chains she has made
She looks back to the castle once more
Then beloved King steps down again
Retrieves His crippled bride
Tired and weak held in His great arms
He loves her as before
Gracious King- please save me the pain
Blind my eyes to the alluring ways
Unworthy daughter am I as well
Oh Father, keep me from turning astray.
