Exodus To Socialism

There are days when the slow queue on the highway leading to work feels like animals being led to slaughter,There are no choices, only proceed forward. Once at work, strings on the violin play the same tune, over and over, a masterpiece of predetermined design. I gave a free meal to a beggar passing by, her smile spoke of good fortune, found. Then it struck me, what right do I have give my master's money away? we donate to the United Way, is that not enough? my master tithes 3% to the less-fortunate already. I got back in the slow queue on the highway to go home, keeping my thoughts to myself, I only share them with you .....the reader

James, I hate to admit it, but you hit a chord with me here. I wrote a similar poem about "socialism" and never posted it for fear it would offend some folks. I admire your courage to speak out and convey your feelings so honestly. That verse about the violin masterpiece that replays is aces! Great work, James. Miss you all as I'm moving. Love, Carolyn

Nice write Jim. It's a bit hard for me to tell if you're a proponent or opponent of your running socialist theme. Even though the smile you received from your receiver of gifts was genuine and heartwarming it still feels to me like you felt cheated in some way. The master was displeased in you, except I don't know if he's Uncle Sam or your employer, the one who sheppards us into the 'cubicles of the damned', where i sit now for that matter.

You are no looking at this in a way to MAKE it enjoyable D amn the rules. Ride awhile in the break down (or speed up lane!). Bring old time rock and roll, the Cream, the Doors, Sly, and open all your windows and BLAST the music IF the YOUNG RAPPERS CAN why we can too, Dance in your seat! Let them look, who cares!!!! Stop giving to the United way, give where you can see the SMILE! TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT! Light & Love
