("Why not rather untruth?"*)
When comfort is less a sigh,
we embrace the fatal lie,
whether it be the hero's victory,
or the Almighty Just Deity on high.
Truth does not vanquish hunger,
end pain, or make us younger,
human ears are much more finely tuned
to the ever clever pleasure monger.
So beware seeker of Sooth,
Happiness lies in Vermouth,
Joyfully we drink a glass after glass,
each toasting our loving companion Ruth.
