Examine Thy Self

You see the sunrise in the east You see it set in the west Are your better days behind you? Or are the best days still to come? Do you lie in bed and cursed the dawn? Do you stand and greeted with a smile? Is your life a burdensome trek? Is it a journey on a cloud? Is it somewhere in the middle? Do you feel you're a part of life's great plan? Do you feel you're a spectator on the side? When you give it thought will it make you humble? Or will it make you proud? Will it make you stop and examined thy self To see if something is wrong? How do you feel about puppies? Kittens, baby bunnies Do these things make you smile? Or have you become so callous? That nothing makes you smile All of these questions I have asked myself Now I ask this thing of you Examine thy self look deep within And seek out your true self

And then (Marx:knowledge without action is incomplete), the true self moves on and on, only to be considered again at all pit stops of the journey. Great stuff, congratulations and many wishes, Kai

Hello Edward. Allow me to say. So let it be said so let it be written so let it be done. This entry is marvelous because it does make the reader pause and look within. You have named this entry well. Your thoughts and questions are so valid. Well done entirely.

Thank you so much Lisa. You have picked up on exactly what I hoped the readers would. I desire to make them pause and look within themselves as I have many a time. Introspection and self evaluation can keep one humble. Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement have a blessed day Lisa and thank you for sharing your poetry with us as well.

Perfect poem, Edward - I'm late middle-aged and definitely "in the middle," there, somewhere... No burdens that are all that huge. Maybe that's a problem. : )

Good morning Doug. Thank you again for your kind comments. You mentioned no burdens that are all that huge. Remember it is the small burdens we carry they give us the strength to bear the large ones. Have a blessed day my friend And thank you again.

You are so correct in your comments Heidi. Only by being our true selves can we leave a true life.
