Exam Hell
Months of work coming to a final test,
three hour papers in hot rooms, it’s no jest.
Classics, linguistics, fine art, all for me,
revision time seems too short now you see.
June is a student’s nightmare, no release,
impatient for freedom and inner peace.
Am I ready for the open days show?
Images and sculpture, for public glow.
The nervous tension gives me a headache,
summer madness, for education’s sake.
By exam end I’m dazed, lost and confused.
Ready to relax, no longer abused.
Escaping class for some summer sunshine,
Idyllic dreams with the one I call mine.
