Evolution of a Clown
Pressured to succeed...
one follows an illusion of self.
A painted face to hide behind.
A mouth with both smile and frown,
to help conceal your ups and downs.
Big ears to let the others know
that you listen well...but it's just a show.
A big red nose of recognition,
adds to my unquenchable suspicion.
Your fake flowers that squirt...
causes others to hurt...
as they thought your gifts were sentimental.
You now wear big shoes...
trying hard not to loose,
a life that you now halfway juggle.
You wear heavy white gloves...
so you don't need to feel...
I ask you again...are you really real?
