Everybody's Fool

I am visible to the world but I am unseen I am living but I appear dead I am always smiling but I am sad within I hold my head high but I am in pain I am useful to have around but I am never thanked I make sincere efforts but the results seem insignificant I am decent to a fault, but my actions are deemed vulgar I am sensitive but my emotions are trod on I walk the extra mile to see just a smile But my intentions are always proven wrong My heart breaks often and tears flow down But they just get washed down by the rain I don't learn my lesson and I still don’t know my place In the lives of people around and the ones I love I continue to lay around waiting for a nod of appreciation But I am doomed to a life of ignominy
