Every Rose Has
She could curl her lips around fire's touch,
make the flames erupt into something
contemporary-
something more.
She could break the broken splinters
inside my devoured core-
with a flick of her tongue.
She could sweep it all away,
and watch the remnants settle
in the glimmering reflection of
her star kissed petals-
while making me yearn
for the fury of thorns.
I would beg.
Plead.
Pray to barter my flesh-
to be but a note in her symphony.
