Everlasting Time
The smoky gray clouds lingered in the sky as if they were signals from a fire below.
They were tinted with a blush of pink that softened their looming presence above.
The light blue sky looked hidden behind them seeming to be on the way to be gone.
Golden colored leaves were still on the trees in areas not ready for a new season.
Briefly the sun cast rays on the hills behind an old bard in a field with untold stories.
I think about many that I have too. Some exciting and others maybe too much to hear.
One father who taught me to win and lost. Another father who taught me love and won.
Both are no longer here, to see what has become of me, but some things never leave.
Just as my stories returned in my travels, I saw the sun shine through the towering pines.
I knew I would be my own guiding light through more than this trip, but everlasting time.
