Everlasting Guilt

Why…hurt…Why…hurt Isabel, her gaze pins the accusation upon the one in question And a solitary moment, frozen and regretted, hangs in the air The intensity could set a lawn ablaze; still the ice remains its frozen nature Her eyes, the weapon of guilt circulating the room Could she be told the truth; can she handle it Isabel, would she able to hold the truth down, peer pressure sunk the ship: our relationship Would she fall apart worse than she is now Asking relevant questions to the same scenario Guilt…everlasting guilt, one of the most perfect tools of shame Doesn’t really matter who says what or tries to make amends The situation is already an unstable construction site; a broken trench planned to be created A star-crossed couple reduced to staring across from each other Wondering greatly what the other is trying to say; each thinking they own a piece of the fault Who can say it’s all wrong when everything is falling apart? Apologies may be the route to getting better They say scars never heal but most think inside a box rather than a magician’s hat Scars heal; they are just forever permanent and may be re-opened To remind people like Isabel of where they’ve been And the decision to if they wish to take the route again They say time heals all wounds and no excuses could make things right Well, let’s test the waters to see if those same sayings hold truth
