Written: December 28, 2023 ______________________________________ flounder in fictional field —squeals and squeaks Whimpers and growls Sylphic swaying, of flames spewing, inwardly throbbing of my nostril lobotomized cosmic orbs. scent of cinnamon and coral on a rosary interlaced of aurulent rimes. Shrouded your burgundy & coniferous ravines loop of vitality & unbearable redemption in spanning eons, ineffable wonder cradled by melodic hums and buzzes of lazy heat and whistles of pitches of endless hymns echoes of choral chants sung by soloists. black ravens croaking, like peals of doom dewy allelomorphs with waft-aloft wings angels of ethereal whisper of thunder, that rang deafeningly through the crevices, of anodal motion scurrilous loci modeled as diploid.

This is so dark, that it made me feel dark. Cutting imagery, powerful diction...

Ah Dr sotto, this is brilliant I absolutely love how you started the poem with such captivating alliterations and how your poem flows with colors and descriptive lines in the form of free verse. You do free verse too so well and your lines are so creatively crafted. I especially love “ ineffable wonder cradled by melodic hums and buzzes of lazy heat“ i love the word ineffable always and to see your use of it here in such an eloquent manner is truly impressive. The ending depicts darkness so well.

Sotto’s your poem is a beautiful and evocative piece of art. The imagery of the burgundy and coniferous ravines, the melodic hums and buzzes, and the echoes of choral chants is so vivid and enchanting. The poem is a testament to your talent and creativity, and I’m sure it will inspire many others to explore the beauty of nature and music. - Blessings, Daniel

A sonata of an evening brings many different sounds and moods to us. Your imagery brings a picture of such detail, it brings up so many different feeling and emotions like a sonata. Excellent poetry, my friend. Have a great 2024! Bill

dearest Sotto--your imagery was evocative and stirring. I felt a range of emotions as I read your poem. I liked black ravens croaking, like peals of doom dewy allelomorphs with waft-aloft wing. I definitely felt a sense of doom throughout this poem...not sure why...but this poem is one that I'll need to re-read to gain the full benefit of your words....my brain is tired I think...a little too much stress for me today. Hope you're doing well...have a splendid evening, Sara
