Evening Monsoon
A
half-drawn curtain
of rain
reveals through its
fringes
the softly silent
orange light
of summer desert sunset
(A rainbow
in the southwest sky
marvels at it all)
as lightning
strikes up,
a conversation in the language
of humid warmth
and storming thunder,
the context of which
grows slowly ever darker,
until only stars
are left to tell.
