Evening
What person would dare decry
the wonder of sunset's sky.
Before light begins to fade
Sunset's colors on parade!
Crimson, gold, even a pink.
we pause and begin to think
Of Nature's wonder, her gift,
dusting world with golden sift.
Soon dusk spills shadows on field,
nudges mountain top to yield.
Silhouettes of lilac blue
dapple Earth in softest hue.
Sunset abdicates her hold
on a world she turned to gold.
Night arrives in ebon skirt,
and begins her starlit flirt.
