Even a Long Road Ends

Even a long road ends Like shadows chasing daydreams at sundown Or the last touch of darkness, at the dawning of a day I’ve tried so hard to find my way Through the false hope that I love you gave Even a long road ends Even a long road ends I guess it’s just our time my old friend I always thought you’d be there So much for making mends Even a long road ends What comes to mind when you realize it’s over Is that fate was just a disguise to keep you sober To say goodbye won’t make it right It’ll just add pain and subtract life Yes even a long road ends Even a long road ends I guess it’s just our time my old friend I always thought you’d be there So much for making mends Even a long road ends So much for eternity I guess We’re caught up in this mess and failed the test I once thought what we had was much more than pretend Even a long road ends Even a long road ends
