“Grief can be the garden of compassion. If you keep your heart open through everything, your pain can become your greatest ally in your life's search for love and wisdom” Rumi Once I roamed in forgotten fields of poppies, without a metaphor or adjective to portray sombre sorrows for tomorrow. In the dilemma of a firework fate, where happiness is the ultimate sacrifice, afraid time would leave me behind, in illustrations of illusion, I wandered as an invisible image, searching for the serenity of silence. Pondering - in times of hunger do you crave for me? In my state of darkness, the breeze kissed in a celestial dance, as a soft guiding gleam appeared, my lost soul transcended through a mirage of kingdoms. Floating free in velvet skies, ethereal lanterns reflected in empyrean empathy, illuminating paths, shimmering through congested clouds. In every flicker, charcoal shadows, slowly coloured into marigold tones, with brushstrokes of amethyst and ruby, infused with sparks of moonlight. In their mystical embrace, feathered whispers weaved a cloth of compassion, as mercy poured in satin blossoms.

Dear silent one, do you ever write anything that would make me go meh? This is beyond impeccable! Where do i start? It is from the deeply moving emotions flowing flawlessly to the way youv used poetic techniques such as alliterations , assonance, metaphors, imagery and how you pair words too is so very creative and shows intelligence with diction, so very impressive! You always leave us all in awe, and you definitely owned the theme of the prompt and delivered something celestial and graceful! I must also highlight some of the lines that really stood out for me “ empyrean empathy” “ cloth of compassion” “ kissed in a celestial dance

In their mystical embrace, feathered whispers weaved a cloth of compassion as mercy poured in satin blossoms... This poem has predawn birdsong...we were never meant to be brought back from deep sleep with noisy alarm clocks... A sign of the times... Out in wild spaces, the humaness is gifted with the sereness of silence... I find myself sometimes in that silence where I can only hear the ocean in my ears, and heartbeats. Even the sun enters with gentle colours slowly warming up the charcoal...

This poem beautifully illustrates the amazing journey from darkness to light. The subtle transformation of shadows into vivid marigold hues, decorated with amethyst and ruby, and accented by moonlight's ethereal shine shows the astounding metamorphosis. The canvas becomes a stunning masterpiece with sun-like radiance. Only by passing through the dark clouds can one become radiant. This stunning poetry captivates the reader from start to finish. I admire your work, Silent One.

Silent One, "Ethereal Lanterns" carries me on a journey through the depths of sorrow to the emergence of compassionate understanding, akin to a odyssey from darkness into light. It evokes a sense of transformation, where grief becomes a canvas displaying the vast richness of human experience, where pain and beauty blend, and solitude mounts an eternal quest for love and wisdom. Cheers! Don

Breathtakingly described and created. RUMI'S quote so apt, don't know too much about Rumi but will look him up. Your second stanza is remarkable which entices you to ponder 'in times of hunger do you crave for me' and your last stanza embraces 'a cloth of compassion,as mercy poured in satin blossoms,' Great imagery and superbly created. Hugs, blessings, Jennifer.
