Eternal Muse

music that was lilting soulful if you will played with the wink of an eye that our hearts and ears found the need to applaud remnants of the past could be found in his words words that revealed times with fellow troubadours who squeezed a dollar bill tighter than their lover’s waist his bandana spoke of a time long gone but remembered when the songs of life passed through the artist and found their way to a listener's palate leaving a melody to savor like a fine Merlot upon the lips

Thanks Maria. Years ago I read a book that literally changed my life entitled "The Craft of Lyric Writing" by Sheila Davis. After reading this book I became totally hooked on the idea of being a writer. Being a lyricist did not go well but from the rubble I found poetry and have been writing poems ever since. Thanks for your support..................peace!

Such a beautiful and emotional poem Richard. Your poetic expression is lovely and nostalgic especially in the third stanza. I totally enjoyed your write this evening!

I love music and I love poetry and so often they go hand in hand and touch your heart in a way that is never forgotten...like the artists who create it. Nice tribute, Richard.

At a local coffee house I used to frequent I met a man who was both musician and poet. He told me during the 1960's he was a friend of Bob Dylan. He and I really hit it off. Shortly after meeting him he passed away. I wrote this poem in his memory. Thanks for stopping bye.....................peace!

As much as a piece of poetry that touches my soul I love a piece of music that touches me. It is saving and healing both of which there is not enough. Thank you.
