Escape Artist

Escape Artist By Lola Somehow she found my eyes in dim candlelight I offered chaos and she found my beating heart The demons that lied behind her disguise The days that laid ahead of the bittersweet start I pledged my allegiance to stories yet untold I gave away freedom and slowly we grew old She shouted and she screamed of cold memories Monsters tore me down until I lost my broken dreams For years and years, she left me all alone Our hair faded grey as we built a home Walls were painted grey as sunlight stayed away Torches and spoons, we faded from our tortured ways Inside darkness of my mind; these stories never told Cause I escaped from hell and found this ocean shore Redemption found my heart and angels took their hold Scarred and afraid; the strength to beg the sunrise for more
