Entwined
Entwined
Buried it!
Deep in denial’s tomb
it grew, weed like,
nurturing its hate,
feeding its neediness
at the expense
of withering flowers.
Tortured tentacles
laced themselves angrily
about truth,
entwined themselves
in the falsity
of failure,
spreading a pall
upon success.
Suffocating fear
attended the loneliness
grasping attempts
at feigned freedom
in strangling defeat.
Release, escape,
abetted
soft petals
entwined
in the gentle touch
of a hand
offering help.
