re-post inspired by SO 's contest Most do not know nor comprehend we too were slaves this England this England I was bred a mere pawn too in empire painted red when they returned from that last Great war enough is enough they swore victory became a victory of peace as they broke free the wind of change spread forth to multiply as empire became common wealth

Thanks Jim ,the history of the ordinary English folk,(my immediate forbears ) and their fight for enfranchisement etc against a ruling elite is not widely known (particularly outside these shores).I suppose thats why we have poets.Blessings for the new year my friend
