England
English heroes never lived for me
And English flowers are dead
England is a prison in the sea
And frozen is England's bed
And yet so suddenly I yearn to be
Where an English river is running free
For an English river shapes the throne
And reign in gardens of light
And make unfettered England's vast stone
That keeps her heart warm and bright
So suddenly yet I'm yearning to be
Where an English river is running free
