Endless Days

I close the windows. I shut the doors. Away from the shadows, surrounding these three floors. Every room, it's own light. On at the chosen hour. Holding back the night, with only lightbulb power. All the shades are drawn, keeping silhouettes outside. They creep across the lawn, no fear of being spied. Darkness outside, light within. Night once again becomes day. I can't let the evening begin, here in the glow, I will stay.

Well written, Sandra. I too like my privacy but I don't think thats what this poem is about. I find it a bit sad. I thought everyone was friends with the moon:)

I am friends with the moon. I did not mention the skylights. Thank you, Daniel.

I like this one. It is good to feel safe in your home with shades pulled and the lights on. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K
