Endless

when you unwrapped yourself from the warm cocoon of my blankets for the last time neither one of us said goodbye. When my lips left your neck And brushed against your ear For the last time It was not a kiss goodbye. When you blinked your eyes And tickled my cheek with your lashes For the last time It wasn’t to hold back tears. when I said your name with a voice still full of wanderlust for the last time there was no quiver of fear. When we last went for a walk There was no final sip of coffee, Last step or finish line, That marked that we were over. There was no ending after we began, No final page to our book, With pages undisturbed, And an ending yet determined. Maybe there never will be, Perhaps this will won't ever be over With pages that wait patiently For someone to pick up the pen.
