Enchanted House
Mam's in the garden, breaking another chair
Eight kids round the fire for whom she has to care
She never envisaged her life to be like so
The cold must be kept at bay so another chair will go
Mam's in the kitchen, making porridge oats
Eight kids round the table, all with hungry throats
She never thought life would be so tough
Not much porridge just enough
Mam's in the bedroom
Mam is weeping
