Empty Ceremonies
Sacraments and rituals will not
Bring forth our holiness,
They're empty ceremonies that
Just make men walk in darkness.
Pious genuflections, deeds-
They make us think we're good.
Truth is in His Word, it leads
To God, not to gods of wood.
Once for all, Christ shed His Blood,
We receive Him in our hearts.
He's not in that bread, that's no God!
They're lies religion imparts.
Religion does not save, it blinds!
God showed us just one Way.
In Christ alone one truly finds
The Truth and Life he needs today!
God is unseen, He is Spirit.
He's not seen by human sight!
The Word is where our God we'll meet
In the heart's where we find light.
