Empty Arms
Empty Arms
When my arms are empty, I only think of you
You should be inside them, stopping me feeling blue
Why is it I see you, everywhere I go?
Yet you are not with me and why, I do not know.
When I hear a voice calling out my name
I always think it’s you, but it’s not and that’s a shame
You should be there, when my eyes close in sleep
You would stop the need in me, the need to count the sheep
Think of my arms with you wrapped in them and held tight
Think of that thing, and I’ll be in your dreams to night.
