Listen to poem:
If I could find a reason,
it would be buried under our dead.
No time to escape our treason
the Earth must always be fed.
I 'll give no thought to distance,
for we have traveled far.
We have learned the art of resistance,
as we assassinated each burning star.
The depth of our collective humanity,
is only as deep as the trash we leave.
We argue over the meaning of our insanity,
then stand in silence when most of us grieve
Some have attempted to climb high mountains,
to see if there was change on the other side.
Those who watched cheered for separate fountains,
now want to build a tall wall to hide inside.
I claim no knowledge or wisdom,
nor understand our fall or cause.
I know only each day we succumb,
To self-interest and the sound of our own applause,
