Empirically Speaking

I never met dear Granpa, He died, over the sea- Granma's love-letters are though, Proof enough for me. I've never seen a baby born, or heard that first cry of life- I trust instead, upon, the testimony of my wife. I've never seen a miracle or God's voice speak loud to me- Since Jesus' knock upon my door Peace and Joy,for sure, have now, made me-me. Inspired by Emily Dickinson's no 1052 'I never saw a Moor' http://brianspoetrybio.blogspot.com

Hi there! I'm brand new to the site and absolutely love this beautiful piece. Emily Dickinson is a great source of inspiration and was a quirky little character in life. Her story is such an interesting read. It's does me good to see you appreciate and credit her. I look forward to reading more of your work!

The Dickinson poem is one of my favorites for it speaks of faith when you have no material proof. You have captured the same message in your poem, Brian. Very nice! Love, Carolyn
